"It's no good! It's no good trying to get rid of your own aloneness.
You've got to stick to it all your life.
Only at times, at times, the gap will be filled in.
At times! But you have to wait for the times.
Accept your own aloneness and stick to it all your life.
And then accept the times when the gap is filled in, when they come.
But they've got to come.
You can't force them."

A protective shell is what is needed. It has started to develop already. The shell will reflect back all the negativity, negativity that can sear the heart. It needs to grow all around, all around. So used to it does one have to get that it doesn’t make a difference anymore and that is what should lead to the shell developing. But it has to reflect back negativity coming from all quarters not just one or two. So it needs to develop more, all around and grow stronger with time. The job isn't as easy as one thinks. Each time a new bond is made, the shell will have to renew itself and start the process of making itself stronger all over again. Inside it one will be all alone. One will be so brittle that one won't be able to do without the crust outside. One will have to be strong. Very strong!
The shell is hard to get but makes life simpler, i agree. But i think the vulnerability in being shell- less, though the cause of a lot of suffering at the completion of each circle, is what makes life worth living. The possibility of suspending oneself free and emotionally naked, even if only to fall and suffer at the end,is probably the only thing that makes me want to keep living. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should see all the shades of life, whether we like them or not, and that's what actually makes us more experienced in these matters, that's what makes us grow...that's what develops the shell so that the next time when something is coming to hurt us, it doesn't affect us as badly as it could have...I know we have conflicting theories but each man is entitled to his opinion ;) And ya you are the only one who understood what I have written, rest everybody was like it's boring, it went above our heads;)
